Probing System
This part of the CMM touch the part and sense touched point coordinate which required for calculation of the dimensional geometries. There are different type and shape of probes are available and can be used depending upon the application. Originally probes were solid and hard but now day?s different types of probes available. These probes are need to establish contact with work piece, at same same time encoder reads scale value and show it on the DRO or to the computer and same time save it for further calculation. Nowadays, transmission trigger-probes, optical transmission probes, multiple or cluster probes, and motorized probes are available.

Now we are describing different types of probes
Inductive and Optical Transmission Probes
These probes are mainly used for automatic tool changing. Inductive linking used to transfer power between modules and attached probes. Previously hard wired probe were used to setting a tool which were mounted on fixed position on the machine structure.

The optical transmission probe allows probe rotation between gagging moves, making it particularly useful for datum the probe. The wide-angle system allows greater axial movement of the probe and is suitable for the majority of installation.

Motorized Probe
This kind of probe used where probe required to positioned in different direction. This probe can be configured in?48 positions in the horizontal axis 15 in the vertical axis. For a total of 720 different probe orientations can be programmed. Probe can reach in deep holes and recess with range of its light weight extensions. These probes are very good for complex surfaces inspection.

Multiple Styluses Probe Heads
There are many types of styli available to perform different types of applications.?Selection?of styli is depends on the application. These can be moved in different direction with joints and length can also be modified depending on the applications.?
